TOPLAN is a New York studio shaping buildings and the rooms within them — drawn from one hand, finished with the same care from façade to fixture.
Toplan is a small studio that takes on a measured number of projects each year. We work in the considered addresses of New York and the surrounding boroughs — residences, places of worship, mixed-use buildings, and interiors that ask to be lived in for a long time.
Our drawings begin with the quiet things: how a stair lands, where the light enters in winter, how a corner of brick meets stone. From there we shape the rest. The result is architecture that feels inevitable — and interiors that feel collected, not decorated.
We see a project through from massing study to final hardware. The hand is the same throughout.
Façades drawn with the proportion and material restraint of older buildings — executed with the precision of the new. We work in masonry, cast stone, fenestration and detail.
Rooms shaped around how people actually live and gather. Stair, joinery, plaster, stone — specified, drawn at full scale, and resolved before a single fixture is ordered.
We carry a project from foundation to final walk-through — coordinating consultants, trades and procurement so that the drawings reach the room intact.
— Exterior Architecture

Toplan is a New York studio of architects, interior designers and builders who have spent the last several years shaping residences, religious institutions and mixed-use buildings around the city. We take on a small number of commissions each year so that the drawings, the specification and the room itself are held to one standard.
Our work begins long before the first elevation. We sit with clients, learn how they live or worship or work, and let those facts shape the plan. Then we draw — slowly, at full scale, on the wall as much as on the screen.
We accept a small number of commissions each year. If you are considering a building, a renovation or an interior, we would be glad to draw you a first sketch.
